Category / Audio & video I can't see/hear anyone in my meeting

Given that GoClass operates through a browser, it's crucial to ensure everyone's setup is compatible with ours. If there are black frames or if someone can't be heard, the issue could be related to permissions, browser, device, or network.

Here are some suggestions on how to resolve this problem:

Network

One of the main reasons for these issues is due to insufficient network connections between you and your guests.

This is often related to network security, like a VPN or firewall.

  • If you are using a VPN, try disabling it and connecting to the room again.
  • If you have a firewall, consider adjusting it based on our recommended setup.
  • Try connecting through a different network, such as a mobile hotspot.
  • Make sure your network meets all of our recommended network requirements.

Devices

Remove any active background effects or noise reduction features.

Another platform may be accessing your microphone, which can be resolved by clearing your browser cache and cookies. You can find more information on how to do that, depending on the browser you are using.

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Opera

Browsers

Try switching to a different browser like Chrome or Firefox. Make sure to check that the latest version of the browser is being used.

The same issue can occur with browsers like Edge and Safari that are relatively new to supporting WebRTC technology. It's possible that bugs in the technology have not yet been fully resolved. As GoClass relies solely on the browser, it's affected by these issues until they are fixed by the development teams. It's recommended to use more established browsers like Chrome or Firefox to avoid these issues.

Devices

Consider disabling hardware acceleration if you are experiencing difficulties with the video or audio stream. Additionally, close any software or browser tabs that are running in the background, as these can put additional strain on your CPU. By freeing up resources, you can improve the overall performance of your system and reduce the likelihood of technical issues during your stream.
